On December 10, 2020, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in an instant, my world was turned upside down. My mom, Michele Dunbar, was diagnosed in her 50s, fought hard, and put it behind her for years—until it returned, and we lost her in 2016. Too many family members and friends have faced this disease, and too many lives have been cut short.

That’s why I’m walking 60 miles in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. I’m walking for my mom, for all those we’ve lost, and for those still fighting.
