There is no such thing as "Happy" World Cancer day until cancer is no longer a threath to life. In 2024, an estimated 2 million new people will be diagnosed with cancer in the United States. In 2024, an estimated 611,720 people died of cancer in the United States. Sadly, most of us said good bye to a loved one, friend or neighbor because of this evil, undiscrimatory disease. The leading cancer diagnosis is breast cancer with prostate a close second. However, thanks to advances in screening, diagnosis and treatment options, we are not on the deadliest cancer list; and that's because of our collective efforts to not only fund research, but to encourage everyone to get screened! Our survival rate has increased to 91%! I "hate" cancer and everything and everyone it has taken from me, but I am happy to be part of the fight to end ALL cancers. If you would like to help, pick a charity/hospital/cause or a person battling cancer to support. One of my favorite causes, because it was the first charity to reach out of me personally, is the Komen.
