My sister Gail Loos Shanks and I are walking in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Breast Cancer Fundraiser this summer. You may know that we lost our precious sisters, Jill Shanks and Leigh Athans to cancer this past year. Jill valiantly battled metastatic breast cancer for 3 1/2 years, and Leigh courageously fought small cell lung cancer. Gail and I are walking in memory of both of our brave, beautiful sisters and hope to raise significant funds in the fight against this insidious disease. 

Please support me as I commit to this challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. (Or lung cancer.) It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye to not one, but two sisters over the course of 6 months. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever. I humbly ask for your support. Thank you.
