In August 2024, I heard the words every woman fears after a mammogram “We found a lump and it’s concerning” and my breast cancer journey started. As scary as it was, I am blessed. I benefited from the millions of women before me who paved the way with a well established protocol allowing me to say I’m cancer free. I had amazing support from my family and friends along with affordable health insurance.
Unfortunately, millions of women are not as lucky. They may lack the support system or the health insurance or they are diagnosed with a more aggressive breast cancer.
That’s why I’ve signed up to walk Day 1 of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day (and convinced my husband to join me :)).
Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
