The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® Youth Corps is a select group of young people (10–16 years old) who participate as crew members on the event. Youth Corps members will attend the entire Komen 3-Day event, including training sessions on the Thursday before the event (accompanied by a small group of adult Crew Leaders), sleep overnight with us for two nights and complete a multitude of important tasks both on the route and in camp. Each Youth Corps member will be required to raise $500 by the time of the event in order to participate. Read through our Youth Corps Handbook for additional program details and FAQs.
Step 1: Application. Click on the application link below. You will be taken to a form on our website to submit a preliminary application.
Please note that incomplete or poorly-completed applications will not be considered, so be prepared to submit a thorough application.
This application should be completed by the student, not the parent. Most students complete the process in about 10-15 minutes. One of our Youth Corp Leaders will contact you within one week following the close of application submissions to schedule an interview.
Step 2: Video Interview. Once we have received your completed application, you will be sent a link to schedule a video interview via Microsoft Teams. This is an opportunity to learn more about Youth Corp, ask questions, and meet the Youth Corp Leaders.
Step 3: Enrollment (if accepted into program). If you are accepted into the program, your parent or guardian must formally register you as a participant on the3day.org where you’ll set up your participation and fundraising page. You will receive instructions from our office on how to complete this on our registration website.
Parents: A position as a Youth Corp member is a terrific first-time volunteer opportunity for many young individuals. As such, we encourage our Youth Corp to take complete responsibility for this process themselves by calling or e-mailing with any questions regarding the program and completing the application themselves.
As described in Step 3 above, if your child completes Steps 1 and 2 successfully and is accepted into our program, you will be directly enrolling them as a participant and receiving confirmation details from a member of Komen Staff. We will provide you with additional information that will help you support your child as they fulfill their commitment.
