Join us as Susan G. Komen® continues our 3-Day webinar series with our next webinar focused on nanomedicine and immunotherapy in breast cancer. You will hear from an early career scientist, Dr. Susan Thomas, as she showcases how Komen funds have aided our understanding of cancer treatment and the quickly developing field of nanomedicine in cancer immunotherapy.

This webinar will be hosted by:

  • Amber Livingston, 3-Day Specialist  
  • Annabell Oh, Sr. Manager, Research Grants Administration, Komen
  • Susan N. Thomas, Ph.D., Assistant Professor at George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech University and the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University 
    • Dr. Susan Thomas, Ph.D., is an early career scientist at Georgia Tech University that was recently awarded a CCR award to study breast cancer immunotherapy via targeting cancer cells in the lymph node.  She is using her training as an engineer to develop novel treatments and materials to support the natural defenses in the body via lymph nodes to treat metastatic disease.

The webinar will be 30 minutes long and you will have the opportunity to ask questions. Invite your friends, family and donors to participate and learn more about how the money you raise helps support Komen’s research.
