I hate breast cancer. I have lost family members and dear friends to this hideous disease and have made it my mission to do whatever I can to save lives. Every 14 seconds, somewhere in the world, a case of breast cancer is diagnosed -- a sobering statistic. I am asking for your help in this fight to save lives.
I will be joining hundreds of walkers in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. I have committed to raise a minimum of $2300 in donations and will walk 60 miles over three days to demonstrate my determination in finding a cure for breast cancer. Since 2003, the Komen 3-Day has raised more than $891 million—which Komen has used to save lives and make huge strides in breast cancer research. The funds raised have helped Komen‘s mission to save lives from breast cancer, by investing more than $1.1 billion in breakthrough research and more than $2.3 billion to support people and communities most at risk through programs to provide access to screening, treatment assistance, patient navigation and education.
Komen is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, funding more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside of the federal government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.
