The Chicagoland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure was
established in 1997 and held the first Susan G. Komen Chicago Race for
the Cure. The Chicagoland Affiliate now features two races every
year; one in Chicago and one in Lombard. The Komen
Chicagoland Affiliate has awarded more than $11 million toward the
fight against breast cancer by funding grassroots breast health
education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects.
