As I prepare to walk my 18th 3 Day (and 20th that I participated in), I am saddened by the number of people I know who have been diagnosed with breast cancer in the last year. Happily, two of them, Emilee Probst and Tonja Burk, have been declared cancer free. But that doesn't mean we don't continue the fight.

I fight for all of the survivors who will always worry about whether their cancer will rear its ugly head again. I fight for those who are still battling this awful disease, especially my high school classmate and fellow cheerleader, Sandy. I fight for the memories of those who have tied the battle with this horrible disease and are with us only in our memories.
