As a breast cancer survivor, I know firsthand what this fight looks like. I've lived through a year of relentless treatment – countless doctor appointments, grueling chemotherapy sessions, targeted treatments, and four surgeries. I've felt the fear, the exhaustion, and the uncertainty that comes with every scan and every result.
Now, I'm channeling that experience into action.
I'm committing to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day – a 60-mile walk over three days – and I'm asking for your support.
Why I'm Walking
Yes, walking 60 miles will be challenging. My feet will hurt, my body will ache, and there will be moments when I want to stop.
But here's what I know for certain:
- It won't be as hard as sitting in that chemo chair
- It won't be as hard as recovering from surgery after surgery
- It won't be as hard as waiting for test results that could change everything
- It won't be as hard as watching others say goodbye to loved ones lost to this disease
That's why I have to do this.
Every step I take is a step toward a future where no one has to hear the words "you have breast cancer." Every mile represents hope – hope for better treatments, earlier detection, and ultimately, a cure.
How You Can Help
I can't do this alone. I need your support to reach my fundraising goal and make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer.
Your donation will fund:
- Groundbreaking research for better treatments and cures
- Support services for patients and families navigating diagnosis and treatment
- Community education and awareness programs
- Access to screening and care for underserved communities
Every dollar counts. Whether you can give $10 or $100, your contribution brings us closer to ending breast cancer forever.
Join Me in This Fight
I survived breast cancer, but too many don't. I'm walking for them. I'm walking for everyone currently in treatment. I'm walking for future generations who deserve a world without this disease.
Will you walk alongside me with your support?
Thank you for being part of my journey – both through treatment and now through this incredible challenge. Together, we can make breast cancer a thing of the past.
With gratitude and determination,
Katie
