Breast cancer became part of my life when I was just 39. Chemo, radiation, turning 40 while bald from the toxins meant to save me ? it was devastating. Then, five years ago, I faced a second occurrence and had to undergo a mastectomy. Another blow that changed my life.

But last summer, something else life-changing happened. I walked 60 miles over the course of three days with an incredible group of women and men in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day®. Together, we?re raising millions of dollars to help end breast cancer forever.

I was overwhelmed and humbled by the generosity of friends and family like you who helped me raise $3,018.50 (yes, I counted every penny!) ? and make a real impact. That experience gave me hope, strength, and a renewed sense of purpose.

So I?m doing it again.

I?ll be lacing up my shoes, going on training walks, and yes ? asking for donations. Because it?s your support that funds the research, treatment, and outreach that truly change lives. I don?t love asking for money, but I know this isn?t about me. It?s for all of us ? for all women, everywhere.

The walk isn?t until next year, but my fundraising goal is $2,300, and I?m starting early to make it happen.
