Please support me as I continue to commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days.
I continue to serve as the co-host of all four of these events. What does that mean? I walk some of the route, but I also put in 14 hour days by doing other activities.
I start the day at 6AM sharing important announcements, engaging with each walkers 1:1 as they cross the start line and cheering them on for the 20 mile day ahead. During the day, I randomly show up places to cheer, support and help while doing media interviews when needed and doing rehearsals for each of our four ceremonies. Each afternoon from 1 PM - 5 PM, I am at the finish line doing the same as I did in the morning. About 5:30 PM, we welcome in our last walker with dance music and a massive cheering celebration from all the other walkers and crew. Then we deliver a program or ceremony at the end of each day wrapping up about 7 or 8 PM.
These four events allow me to get to know those fighting this disease personally, comfort those who are healing from loss and get inspired by other's with the passion for finding the cures to stop this disease from taking those we love.
