Hello friends!  For 2026 I will be joining my team Gwynne's Friends for my 9th Susan G. Komen 3 day 60 mile walk in Tampa, FL!  We began this team back in 2017 to support our friend Gwynne who was battling metastatic breast cancer.  I knew very little about breast cancer, despite my grandmother and my mom both having it.  I did not know what metastatic meant, I did not know there were different kinds of breast cancer, and what I really did not know was how many people in my life have been affected by the disease personally.  Each year, the list of people I walk for grows, and this is why I have become so passionate about trying to help.  The funds raised not only go to research....so much of it actually goes to people battling the disease.  People who can't afford chemo, who can't afford mammograms or even routine checkups.  The stories we have heard are heartwarming and gut wrenching all at the same time.  The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It is hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I do this. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – in a hope to end breast cancer forever.
