2026 will be my 9th Komen 3-Day. I walk with passion, hope and determination for a world without breast cancer.
I often think back to 2021 – the year I lost both my mother-in-law and a dear friend to cancer. While the Komen 3-Day focuses on breast cancer, I walk to fight all types of cancer.
I walk in honor of my mom, who courageously fought cancer seven times (including breast cancer), and so many others: my grandma, my mother-in-law, Jade Laswell, Chris Martin, Ramone Harper, Aunt Chrissy, Aunt Nell, Felicia Maxwell and Troll.
This year, my friend Jennifer Carle was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer. I walk for her, too – for her fight, her strength and her healing.
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over three days. It’s hard – but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as waiting for scan results. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye.
That’s why I commit. That’s why I walk. That’s why I raise money – to end breast cancer forever. …To end ALL cancer forever.
Thank you so much for your support. Every step matters, and every dollar makes a difference.
XOXO,
Heather
P.S. Double Your Impact!
I have a friend whose company offers matching donations. If you’d like your gift to go even further, you can send your donation to me (cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, etc.), and I’ll make sure it’s processed through her company to have it doubled. Every little bit helps – Thank You!
