Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I'm volunteering on the Sweep and Shuttle team and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
Not long ago I got the call that my sister was diagnosed with Anal Cancer. I got to see up close what a patient goes thru waiting for scans, multiple doctor appointments, weeks of Chemo, and daily radiation. My sister was lucky as she faught hard and won the fight against Anal Cancer.
At the same time my sister was fighting Anal Cancer my very best friend, Sharon, was fighting Blood Cancer. From the beginning I was worried about everything I read on the disease but when she was accepted to a stem cell trail at MD Anderson I really thought she had a chance. I was wrong and my beautiful friend who would do anything to help anybody lost the fight. I will probably never get over this loss.
Then we have Sharon's youngest sister Ellee who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, fought a hard fight, and is my awesome Diva survivor!!!!!!!!!.
Since the last time I participated in the 3 day I have lost some wonder ful fmaily members to cancer. Both my moms brothers lost the fight to cancer just 3 months apart, Sharons wonderful nephew Craig and her cousin Kevin. When I joined the Dallas 3 Day and I met 2 beautiful women and I went on to support them in Half marathons, marathons, and Tris, Melissa won the battle of a double lung transplant but lost the fight to blood cancer and the incredible Mamie also lost the fight to cancer.
I cant focus on all of these different cancers so I will monetarily support them while I live my time and sweet to the Komen 3 Day. Unlike other areas of Komen te 3 day focuses on cancer research to find a cure for breast cancer. If we can find a cure for breast cancer maybe it can lead to a cure for all cancers.
To my daddy who I lost to skin cancer when I was 9 yars old I will always miss you. I will carry you and moms picture with me while I am in Boston and Tampa
