The Big C… Cancer. Very few of us have not been touched in one way or another by this disease. Breast cancer, in particular, isn’t the death sentence it once was, thanks to research, clinical trials, and successful therapies. Continuing the search for solutions requires time, money, and dedication.
With that said, I have decided to answer the call to raise money and walk my fourth 60-mile Susan G. Komen event in 2026 in Boston. In 2011, I asked my friend Eleanor Galbraith to join me in my first 60 mile, three day walk. She did, despite undergoing chemotherapy and having a port in her chest at the time. Eleanor crossed the finish line, defying many odds stacked against her—cancer, nausea, heat, and rain on the walk. My friend lost her battle with cancer in January of 2016.
Moira, her daughter, decided to honor her mom by walking in the Boston Komen, and I plan to as well. The financial goal is $2,300, but I believe $5,000 is a more ambitious target. I would need your help to reaching this goal.
Thank you in advance! If you’re interested in joining me for a training walk this spring or summer, let me know. The walk is August 21-23, 2026.
