Dear Friends and Family,
Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. I am participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day-a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it's not as hard as breast cancer. It's not as hard as chemotherapy. It's not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It's not as hard as saying goodbye.
And that's why I know I have to do this.
This new year will mark my third Susan G. Komen 3-Day. My first walk was in 2010, done in loving memory of my mother, exactly 15 years after she lost her battle with breast cancer at just 44 years old.
More recently, one of my favorite people-my sister-in-law Roni, who will forever be my sister in my heart-was diagnosed with breast cancer at 44 years old. Since her diagnosis, she has been one of the strongest people I know, second only to my mother. She endured intense treatments, fought through countless hard days, and had very few good ones, yet she never gave up. Nothing was going to stop her.
After the DFW 2025 3-Day, which I walked in honor of my mother's 30th heavenly anniversary and for my sister-in-law as she battled triple-negative breast cancer, something incredible happened. The Monday following our final walk day, Roni completed her last treatment. After follow-up visits and scans, she beat it. She is a warrior-and now, she is a survivor.
I have had other family members fight this awful disease as well, and that is why I walk. I walk for them.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal so I can complete this 60-mile walk in honor of my mother, my sister-in-law, my cousins, my aunts, and all those who have walked this road before us and who I will always love dearly.
Thank you in advance for your support-it truly means more than words can express.
With gratitude,
Stacy
