Today I am kicking off my fundraising efforts for the Susan Komen 2-day 40 mile walk for Breast Cancer. (I wimped out of the 3 day walk) I am walking because my mom, and so many other women that I know and love, are battling against this beast. My mom's first diagnosis came when I was in college, over 30 years ago. Here is a picture from her survivor lap during NA's Relay for Life. I think this is from 2021. This past December, she was diagnosed with 2 types of breast cancer in both breasts. Then, right before her scheduled mastectomy, she learned that the cancer was metastatic. She is back in warrior mode. I feel helpless, emotional, and afraid, so I can only imagine how she is feeling. Anyways, this is my WHY. Please help me support this more than worthy cause.
