Heather's Komen 3-day/60-mile Walks:
In 2025, I can't wait to three-peat back in the Mile High City for my 16th in-person walk - August 1-3, 2025. Here's to once again seeing what Denver has to offer … grateful for the continued support, love, and encouragement from all of you! My goal is to once again raise $4,500 for breast cancer research and hopefully get us all one step closer to a cure!
*In 2024, I was back in the Mile High City for my 15th in-person walk - September 27-29, 2024. Loved seeing what Denver had to offer in the Fall & was grateful for the continued support, love, and encouragement from all of you! (raised: $5,727)
*In 2023, I adventured to take on another new city (Denver, CO) for my 14th in-person walk - August 25-27, 2023. Happily walked at high elevation in rainy mountain temps and the continued support, love, and encouragement from all of you! (raised: $5,111)
*In 2022, I walked in the Windy City for my 13th in-person walk - September 16-18, 2022. Happily walked with blister-free feet, great fall weather, and the continued support, love, and encouragement from all of you! (raised: $4,182)
*In 2021, I planned to venture to Chicago for my 12th in-person walk, but due to the pandemic - I participated virtually in #3DayNation! Thank you for your continued support and donating. Your donations helped the fight against breast cancer. (raised: $2,794)
*In 2020, none of us anticipated being stuck in a global pandemic, but there we were! Together we continued to work through it and came out stronger! The 2020 3-day walk series was canceled in-person, but that did not stop us from walking to find a cure in our own cities! Komen announced a #3DayTogether campaign to keep us training, walking, and spreading hope! Thankfully my amazing Walker Stalkers joined me for 240-miles of outdoor walking, which meant we completed ALL 4 3-day walks virtually in 2020! Thank you for your continued support and donating. (raised: $2,344)
*In 2019, I found myself walking to fulfill the mission to: "Walk To Save The Boo-Bees" so that BOTH of my nieces can grow-up knowing a world free of Breast Cancer! I happily accepted the challenge of being back in the City of Brotherly Love for my 11th walk & the Philly Finale! Cheers to blister-free feet, great fall weather, and the continued support, love, and encouragement from all of you! (raised: $4,093)
*In 2018, I found myself walking to fulfill the mission to: "Tits the Season For A Cure: Walk To Save The Boo-Bees" while proudly being part of Amy's Army! Shortly after I registered for the 2018 - I was made aware that one my biggest supporters/walker stalkers/Breasties wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We all knew Amy would crush it because she is a fighter & today she is cancer-free! I happily accepted the challenge of being back in the City of Brotherly Love for my 10th walk with new pink shoes, blister-free feet, great weather, and the continued support, love, and encouragement from all of you! (raised: $4,806)
*In 2017, I found myself back in the City of Brotherly Love, but for the first time ever - walking in August! I was grateful that Mother Nature treated me well for my 9th walk and the hazy, hot, humid summer weather waited til I left Philly to return! I walked with some of my 3-day Breasties & was blister-free and once again grateful for the continued support, love, and encouragement from all of you! (raised: $4,660)
*In 2016, I walked in honor of a dear family friend and true warrior: Grandma Pat who lost her battle with breast cancer in June. Grandma Pat lived her life with a big smile, fashionable clothing, and a cocktail! I happily accepted the challenge of being back in the City of Brotherly Love for my 7th walk & adventuring out west to San Diego for my 8th walk to honor the memory of Grandma Pat with my flashy pink shoes, blister-free feet, great weather, sun, sand, laughs, hills, liquid courage, and the continued support, love, and encouragement from all of you! What? What! Yep, I successfully walked 2 Komen 3-day/60-mile walks in the same year b/c why not ... I mean, it was a leap year after all!!! (raised: $6,639)
*In 2015, I walked in honor of a dear family friend and true warrior: Janice Robertson who lost her battle with breast cancer in July. She lived her life with love, humor, passion, and the constant reminder to keep a Positive Mental Attitude - or PMA as she called it! I proudly braved a wild Nor'Easter storm and walked in memory of Janice as I returned to the City of Brotherly Love for my 6th walk with brand new pink shoes, blister-free feet, and the continued support, love, and encouragement from all of you! (raised: $4,537)
*In 2014, I was back to "Strive for 5 to Find A Cure" and traveled for the first time to a new city (Philadelphia, PA) for this event. I happily accepted the challenge of being back to "Strive for 5" last September and again finished the 60-mile walk blister-free thanks to my training team, infamous pink shoes, and the continued support, love, and encouragement from family and friends! (raised $4,602)
*In 2013, I found myself "Back For More Round 4" as I participated in the Washington, D.C. 3-day finale walk. This proved to be yet another emotional adventure for me, but one I was very excited to be a part of. I happily accepted the challenge of walking my fourth 3-day and again proved that training with an amazing support crew, new pink shoes, and the constant support, love, and encouragement from family and friends - I once again ended the 60-mile walk BLISTER-FREE! (raised $4,345)
*In 2012, I participated in my third consecutive walk in Washington, D.C. and earned the title of "3-peat" walker and was part of the Komen Commitment Club. My lovely niece continued to be a central focus as we trained together and she cheered me along that October as a bubbly 17-month old. I was happy to walk as an elite 3-peat walker and end the challenging 60-miles with blister-free feet, which was a first and a tradition I planned to continue for years to come! (raised $5,445)
*In 2011, I found myself training and walking with a new mission: the hope that my niece will grow-up knowing a world free of Breast Cancer! Reese was 4 months old when I walked that September and was an active supporter throughout my training and 3-day walk! (raised $4,000)
*In 2010, I stepped up to the challenge of walking my first 3-day and had the blisters to prove each of those challenging 60-miles because I believe Everyone Deserves A Lifetime! (raised $3,030)

Why I Continue to Walk 60-miles ...
Look out Denver this DC gal is on her way back to the Mile High City in 2025!
I have made it a goal to raise an additional $4,500 before August 2025 and am hopeful that my 16-year combined total of raising over $70k for Susan G Komen for the Cure will help to Find A Cure and finally put an end to Breast Cancer, once and for all!
It is through the amazing donations you choose to give that allow me to participate in this life-changing event again this year. I have once again made the commitment to walk 60-miles in 3-days in order to beat Breast Cancer one step at a time ... your commitment is simple: make a donation and spread the word!
I am very excited to "Walk to Save The Boo-Bees" and know that this year will be another amazing adventure! Thank you again for your continued support and generous donations and I walk to Find A Cure!
