18 years ago, my wife Monica was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma.
Hearing those words was one of the hardest moments of my life, and what followed was one of the most challenging times we’ve ever faced together. I knew I had to be strong—for her, for our family—and support her every step of the way. It wasn’t easy, but we made it through.
Today, I walk beside her—hand in hand—not only as her partner, but as part of something greater.
I walk to show my support, to honor her strength, and to stand up for everyone who has been touched by breast cancer. I walk for the fighters, the survivors, the ones we’ve lost, and the families forever changed.
I also walk for our two beautiful daughter Bree and for our precious grandaughters, Miley and Ellidy.
I want to see a world where they never have to face this disease. I want to see an end to breast cancer in my lifetime.
That’s why I’m taking on the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. It will be tough. My feet will ache, my body will be sore, and I’ll be tired. But it’s not as hard as going through chemo. It’s not as hard as waiting for test results. And it’s definitely not as hard as hearing “you have breast cancer” or saying goodbye too soon.
This is why I walk. This is why I fight.
Please support me in this challenge. Together, we can help bring an end to breast cancer—once and for all.
