As some of you know, I was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer in March 2024. After a full hysterectomy and several rounds of radiation, I’m incredibly grateful to share that I am now cancer-free.
In August, my best friend and I traveled to Boston to support a few friends participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day — a 60-mile walk dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. This experience hit closer to home than ever before. By the third day, I turned to her and said, "I have to do this."
While there aren’t currently any national walks specifically supporting Endometrial Cancer, participating in the 3-Day is my way of giving back — to stand with everyone who has faced the unimaginable challenges of a cancer journey, whether similar to mine or even more difficult.
The team we joined, STEPS, is primarily based in the Dallas area, and I’m grateful that my best friend will be training alongside me. We’ll be preparing to walk for two very long days (I couldn’t quite convince her to commit to all three!), and together, we'll join the team in San Diego this November.
It will be tough — but it’s not as tough as battling breast cancer. It’s not as tough as enduring chemotherapy. It’s not as tough as hearing devastating news at a follow-up scan. And it’s certainly not as tough as saying goodbye.
I would be honored to have your support as I take on this challenge. Please consider helping me reach my fundraising goal and cheering us on as we walk to fight breast cancer — and to honor everyone touched by this disease.
