In 2024 I had the privilege to walk the Susan G. Komen San Diego 3-day Event.  Yes, we walked 20 miles a day for 3 days.  It was life changing for me.  Little did I know that only six months later, I would be reaching out to the Komen Organization for help and guidance.  

On April 7th, 2025, I received the news that there was a cancerous tumor in my left breast.  I was so fortunate to have amazing medical care and on May 15th, 2025, I had a double mastectomy where the tumor was removed along with three lymph nodes.  My lymph nodes were not affected and I am now CANCER FREE.

Thanks to God, my amazing husband, family, friends and medical team, I am a survivor and will walk again in November.  This event isn't easy, but I promise you, I wouldn't do it if I didn't believe 100% that it was worth every muscle ache, blister and training walk.
