This will be my 4th Komen 3Day 60 mile walk in San Diego. Being part of team “Hands Up For Hooters” has been a rewarding experience. When I joined the team in 2017 I knew it was special. And then I found out just how special! In 2020, at the height of Covid, I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. While still grieving the death of my husband I was confronted with my own mortality. But with the support of my team, my family, friends & neighbors I muscled thru. The science, technology & new advances in medicine saved me. After 2 lumpectomies & 30 rounds of radiation I am cancer free. I walk because I care.I walk because I’m grateful.
