This will be my 9th 3-day event since I started walking in 2019. In November I will be participating in the 3-day event in San Diego. I am excited to be doing this event for several reasons... I've never done the San Diego event, it's the only event where we still camp in pink tents and the first day of the event is my birthday! My goal for this walk is $5,000 and any donation helps me reach that goal. In honor of my 68th birthday, please consider donating $68... 65 donations of $68 will hit my goal!
I was diagnosed in 2018 with stage 1B invasive ductal carcinoma. After a lumpectomy and radiation, I decided that I wanted to fight breast cancer so other women and girls wouldn't have to go through the trauma I went through.
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
