Hello family and friends,
THANK YOU to each and every one of you for getting me to Denver and San Diego 2024 that enabled me to complete my 11th and 12th SGK events. You played a significant part in getting $13.2 million raised in 4 cities for breast cancer research, treatment and advocacy, and I?m truly grateful and humbled.
It was my first time walking in Denver and I?m definitely doing it again at some point. It was hot, yes very hot, but the scenery and camaraderie more than made up for it. Days 1 and 3 were in Denver while Day 2 we got to explore Boulder. Keeping well hydrated really helped with the altitude, and I got a chance to visit Red Rocks amphitheater; what an amazing place. San Diego did not disappoint and as always, the support was legendary and the dancing what FUN!. I had a great time reconnecting with old friends and making new ones, and also deeply missed the ones we lost.
You know me by now, I have to keep doing this until we find a cure. I did Boston [August 2025] which was hot, humid and hilly but wow what a turnout - 940 walkers and crew raised $2.4 million. I've just returned from my first time walking in Dallas [October 2025] - 800 walkers and crew raised $2.1 million. I'm returning to San Diego [November 2025]. I'm asking for your support in all ways big and small and have a 2025 fundraising goal of $8000. Would you help? So far we?ve raised $7463.80 - THANK YOU so much! You can always join me for 1, 2 or all 3-days on the walk ? would love your company. I?ve been training so let?s go!
As a survivor, I'm really fortunate and blessed to do these walks in support of those newly diagnosed cancer patients, those thriving while living with metastatic breast cancer, those in the recovery process, and in memory of those we have lost to this terrible disease.
Thank you (asante sana) for your love, support, and generosity ... appreciated much more than I can express.
God bless,
Akinyi :-)
