The Susan G. Komen 3 Day, or "the pink bubble", is more than a really long arduous walk. It is a community of people dedicated to supporting those fighting breast cancer and funding the research to achieve a world without breast cancer.
As many of you know, I've been walking as part of Team Joyce for years, raising money to fight breast cancer and support our friends and family impacted by it. Our team is led by Joyce, a woman who has done an Avon or Komen walk every year (except the COVID year) since she wrapped chemo in her 30s. We are joined by multiple survivors, a community that cheers us on, and so many donors that are the reason we keep walking year after year. For me personally, this is my 7th walk, and even though every year I end up blistered and hobbling, I keep coming back to walk again.
This year, we're going back to San Diego to walk 60 miles in 3 days to keep up the fight. The generosity of friends and family over these past years is what keeps us going on the walk when things get tough, because it's not as tough as cancer, and we're in it to end this disease.
Please consider donating, and if you want to join us mid November in SD, drop me a note!
