Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days to bring awareness to those with breast cancer as well as to those we lost. As many of you may or may not know, I lost my Grandmother to cancer this past summer. She was the Matriarch of our family and loved us all fiercely. Her strength, love and devotion to us all is so apparent with the magnitude of her loss. I was fortunate enough to have her in my life for so many years. She was like a best friend and Grandmother, all in one. I remember the first moment I saw her as a child and the last time I said I love you, and knew that was the last time I’d see her again. I’ll always be grateful for her unconditional love, support, gifts and travels we spent together. My heart is broken but knowing she’s at peace now does make the transition a little easier. RIP Grandma. I’ll always love you.
