Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
Many of you know that I am a 13 year survivor. I had my double mastectomy in January 2012, after being diagnosed in November 2011, after my screening mammogram. I chose to remove both breasts, hoping to reduce my chances of reoccurrence. Fortunately my tumor was identified in its early stages, but because it was close to my chest wall, I still had to have chemotherapy and radiation. After recovering from these, I had my final reconstructive surgery in December 2012.
Everyone's breast cancer journey is different and fighting it is never easy. I am driven to help find a cure so that no one has to face this disease in the future. Join me, by donating monetarily, or by joining my team, WTF (Win the Fight!) and walking alongside me. Your love and support is very much appreciated.
