Eight Years. 480 Miles. One Mission.
This year marks my 8th time lacing up my shoes, pinning on my bib, and walking 60 miles in three days to fight breast cancer. That’s 480 miles over the years. Every step has been for someone I love. For someone you love. For someone who needed hope.
When I started this journey years ago, I had no idea how deeply this walk would change me. I’ve seen the tears of survivors standing strong in pink. I’ve hugged family members walking in memory of someone taken too soon. I’ve felt the blisters, the aching muscles—but I’ve also felt something far more powerful: purpose.
Breast cancer doesn’t care who you are. It doesn’t care if you’re ready. It arrives uninvited, shaking families, stealing mothers, daughters, sisters, friends. But this walk—this community—is a defiant answer to that. It’s a promise that we will not give up. We will not stop walking until there’s a cure.
I walk because 1 in 8 women will hear the words “you have breast cancer” in their lifetime. I walk because research saves lives—and that research needs funding.
If you’ve ever felt powerless in the face of this disease, I invite you to stand with me now. Your donation, no matter the amount, helps fund life-saving research, treatment, and support for those battling breast cancer.
Let’s make this my strongest walk yet. For survivors. For fighters. For the future.
Will you walk with me in spirit?
With gratitude and love,
Sara
