In 2009 and again in 2015, I made the commitment to walk the Susan Komen 3-Day 60 mile breast cancer fundraising event. I must say it was eye opening for me to witness the commitment of so many people to help find a cure for breast cancer. It was the most positive, heart wrenching 3 days of my life each time. I was amazed at the warrior spirit for all those walking as survivors and those whose lives had been impacted by breast cancer. This past year breast cancer has directly impacted our family as we watched my beautiful daughter fight through the ravages of chemo treatment and multiple surgeries. She has fought the battle with courage, optimism and a positive spirit, my warrior daughter. I am once again lacing up my shoes and will participate in the 3-Day in San Diego this coming November. I am walking 1 day 20 miles of this event because let?s face it my 78 year old feet are not what they used to be. I am hoping that you will help me continue to fund the research necessary to finally find a cure for breast cancer. As I have learned, it doesn?t always happen to someone else?s daughter, wife, mother, sister. Thanks for your support. Let?s stomp this beast out!
