I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023. It was discovered around the same time as my yearly mammogram check-up. The cancer was in its very early stages, and they were able to remove the cancerous tumor. I received a series of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I knew I would survive this cancer. I was determined not to let it beat me.
In January 2025 the cancer returned in the lymph nodes in the right breast area. I have started a series of chemotherapy and hormone therapy treatments. So, far the side effects have been manageable. I am staying strong and determine to beat this cancer once again.
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a sixty-mile walk over the course of three days that raises funds for vital breast cancer research and much-needed community programs. Last year, I had an incredible experience participating in this event. I raised over $7,000 and met so many wonderful friends along the way. This year, I have set a goal of raising $10,000. I have committed to this incredible challenge, and you can me help meet this goal. It will be hard, but it is not as hard as breast cancer. It is not as hard as chemo. It is not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It is not as hard as saying goodbye. That is why I know I must do this.
