This August, I’ll be walking 60 miles over the course of three days as part of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day in Boston. I am humbled to be walking in honor of two of the strongest women I know: my mom and my Aunt Kate.
This year, I have the opportunity to walk alongside my mom. Growing up, I cheered on my mom as she walked the 3-Day multiple times. Her commitment and strength inspired me then, and she continues to inspire me now.
I’m also walking for my Aunt Kate, a breast cancer survivor whose courage and resilience are a constant reminder of why this fight matters so much. Her story is one of hope, and I walk to make sure more families can have stories like hers.
60 miles in 3 days is challenging, but it’s nothing compared to the fight against breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as living with uncertainty. And it’s nowhere near as hard as losing someone you love.
That’s why I’m walking and fundraising. Because together, we can end breast cancer forever. If you’re able to, I’d be so grateful for your support. Every dollar brings us one step closer to a cure!
