Growing up, I always felt a special connection to my Grandma Marilyn, even though I never had the chance to meet her. My mom would tell me countless stories about her—her strength, her humor, and her grace—and how much we shared in common. I feel like I carry a piece of her with me every day.
This summer, my mom and I will be walking in the Susan G. Komen 2-Day, 40-Mile Walk in Boston. Our team is called Grandma Marilyn's Girls, and every step we take will honor her memory and celebrate her incredible legacy. For me, this walk is a way to celebrate my mom's stories about my grandmother—a woman full of love, hope, and resilience.
This walk is personal to me for another reason, too—my mom is a breast cancer survivor, and her journey inspires me to fight for a world where no one has to face this disease alone. Together, we’re raising funds to support vital breast cancer research, treatments, and services for those affected.
I’d be so grateful if you’d consider supporting me in this effort. Every donation, whether it’s $5, $50, or more, brings us closer to a future without breast cancer. Thank you for helping us honor my grandmother’s memory and celebrate the strength of survivors like my mom.
With deep love and thanks,
Maya Taylor-Prince
