Thank you for supporting me as I once again take on the job of CREW at the Susan G. Komen 3-Day 60-mile walk. I am back in Boston for the 3rd year in a row and will be co-piloting the BOOBER Sweep and Shuttle van. My pilot is one of my best friends, Karin Kane, and my initial reason for walking. She got me started years ago when the walk was in Philly (oh, how I miss those days...Boston roads are the worst!)
CREWing is hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. Last year I said goodbye to my good friend and colleague, Colette Staab. She was fierce! She gave it everything she had and then some. She never backed down from any fight - whether it was advocacy for Special Education students, union rights for ESPs, or battling breast cancer.
That’s why I have to continue to do this year after year...for Colette and all the other warriors out there that battle this horrible disease day in and day out with grace and dignity. That’s why I’m CREWing and asking you to support me with a donation...every little bit helps!
