Dear friends and family,
So, when I woke up on Monday and looked at The New York Times online, I didn’t see a headline reading, “Breast Cancer Cured! Millions of Lives Saved at Last!” I was very confused, because I’d just finished walking the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer the day before—the 60-mile walk. Surely if I’d walked 60 miles there would be a cure, I said to myself. I ran (okay, I didn’t actually run) to get my phone and immediately saw the problem. I’d walked only 59.5 miles. Now that I know the problem, I’ve signed up again for next year—another chance to walk 60 miles for a cure. Are you in? Cause they need money for that—all that research.
I know, you’ve heard it all before from me . . . but breast cancer still sucks, and we’ve got to keep fighting. Please give as generously as you can, and I’ll walk the 60 miles. That’ll do it, right?
Many thanks,
June
