I never would have thought that I would be walking in TEN 60 mile walks, but when your passion calls, you just have to answer.
Here we are - 21 years after Deb was stolen; 17 after Aunt Barbara. I'm still here, still raising money, still educating, still keeping my promise.
In the last two years since I came to work at Susan G. Komen, I have seen so many more ways that the dollars we raise save and change lives.
What we are doing matters. The people we help matter. The scientific and legal breakthroughs we are creating matter.
So here I am - asking for you to continue to be by my side - doing everything I can do to keep my promise. Because of you, Komen invested $10 million in 32 research grants last year supporting cutting-edge projects focused on conquering metastatic and aggressive breast cancers, advancing precision medicine and eliminating breast cancer disparities. But there are still people who need our help and research that needs to be funded, so I am walking again, for the tenth time, because ending breast cancer needs technology, family, clinical trials, persistence, love and care. Ending breast cancer needs all of us.
