It will be hard - but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. Not as hard as chemo. Not as hard as hearing bad news at your latest scan. Not as hard as saying goodbye.

As many of you know, I lost my stepmom, Shari Classen, almost four years ago after her courageous six-year fight with breast cancer. When I walked the 60-mile course in San Francisco back in 2009, I did it to support women facing this diagnosis. I never imagined how personal this fight would become.

Now, I walk to honor Shari’s life and memory, to heal, and to support the quest for a cure.
