It’s that time of the year again! Time to lace up my walking shoes and start logging some miles to prepare to walk in the Susan G Komen 3-Day in Denver August 1-3. This will be a new walk for our team as none of us have walked in Denver before, and we are up for the challenge!
As in past years, my goal is to not only meet my $2300 fund-raising requirement, but to exceed it! Tina, Shari and I have been busy gardening to raise funds for our team, but we could still use some help! I thank all of you who have donated to this cause and supported our team in the past. I hope that you can help once again.
The 3-Day is the ultimate expression of kindness, hope, determination, strength, and happiness all rolled into one. While the event itself is amazing, the reason it is necessary is quite sad. Every year I hear of more and more people being affected by cancer. Young, old, women, men, breast, colon, prostate, melanoma, leukemia, pancreatic; the list of cancers go on and on. Walking is my way of showing support and making a difference.
You can donate at www.the3day.org, or follow the link below to make an online donation in an amount that works for you. If you prefer to donate by check let me know and I’d be happy to help make that happen. No donation is too big, or too small!
The breast cancer death rate has been reduced by 42% since 1989 with help from Komen through research grants, community outreach, education, screenings, and financial assistance. Many great advances have happened in breast cancer research, but there is still so much more to do. Please consider making a donation. We can all help make a difference and put an end to cancer!
With sincere gratitude for your continued support.
Sara
