This October, I’ll be lacing up my shoes and walking 60 miles over the course of three days in Texas as part of a powerful fundraiser for breast cancer research and support. It’s a challenge I’m proud to take on—and one that’s deeply personal.
Thirty years ago, my mother was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. It was a terrifying time, but through her unshakable faith, incredible strength, and access to an experimental treatment at the time—Taxol—she survived. Taxol went on to become a widely used and life-saving drug in breast cancer treatment. But without the critical funding behind its research, my family’s story could have ended very differently.
That’s why I’m walking. Because organizations like this one are the reason promising treatments like Taxol become available. They are the reason women like my mother get the second chance they deserve—and the emotional and practical support they need along the way.
I’m reaching out to ask for your support. Every dollar raised goes directly to research, treatment development, and support programs for those affected by breast cancer. No contribution is too small, and every step I take will be fueled by your generosity and belief in this mission.
Thank you for standing with me. Together, we can honor survivors, support those currently fighting, and help ensure that more lives are saved every year.
With gratitude,
Roe
