In 2000, I lost my mom, Mary Brockman, to breast cancer. She was just 44 years old. I was 11.
My mom was more than her diagnosis. She was a nurse who poured compassion into everything she did—whether she was caring for patients or volunteering with Victory in the Valley, a breast cancer support organization. She was also a mother who, even in the midst of her own battle, kept showing up with love, humor, strength, and unwavering presence.
She was diagnosed at 34 and bravely fought breast cancer for 10 years. She faced countless treatments, surgeries, and hospital visits with grace and grit, always putting others before herself. I watched her strength as a little girl, not fully understanding what it all meant—but now, as a mom myself, I understand it even more deeply.
Losing her left a hole in my heart, but walking in her honor helps me carry her forward. The 3-Day is more than just a walk—it's a tribute to her legacy and a step toward a future where no child has to lose their mother too soon.
In 2025, I’ll walk 60 miles and aim to raise $2,500 to fund lifesaving research, education, and support programs. Every donation helps keep memories alive, saves lives, and brings us closer to a cure.
For my mom. For your mom. For all of us.
