This Fall, on what would have been my sister's 51st birthday, I will be participating on this incredible Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk alongside her best friend, Kim, and her youngest son, Max.
Jessica is deeply missed everyday – We miss her infectious laugh, her unwavering support, her extraordinary kindness towards everyone, and simply having her with us. In honor and memory of her, we continue to walk.
I will once again be joining Team Jess, a group that has included many dedicated friends and family members over the years, and I am proud to represent them this October.
I am reaching out to ask for your support as I take on this challenging commitment. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over three days. While I know it will be physically demanding, it pales in comparison to the hardships faced by those battling breast cancer – the rigors of chemotherapy, the anxiety of waiting for scan results, and the pain of saying goodbye.
This is why I feel compelled to do this. I am walking and fundraising with the ultimate goal of ending breast cancer forever.
