I am doing it again! Just signed up to walk in my lucky 13th 3-day walk in 2024. Heading to San Diego again.
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day® is a 60-mile walk for a committed group of people who are ready to go the distance to end breast cancer.
Participants raise a minimum of $2,300 and walk an average of 20 miles a day for three consecutive days, educating their communities about breast health and raising funds to help support breast cancer research, community health, patient care and advocacy. It’s a big commitment, but it’s totally worth it.
My personal goal is to raise $3,000. Friends always ask, “what amount should I give?” The answer is every bit counts, no matter how large or small! Start with $25 if you can. Your donation will get me to the starting line, and your thoughts and support – as always - will carry me to the finish line!
If you have a loved one, or if you, yourself are battling cancer mention their name (or yours) when you donate. I will carry each and every name with me every one of those 60 miles. I do this to honor those we have lost, to celebrate the survivors, and to do my part to prevent more friends and loved ones from getting this terrible disease.
Since 2003, the Komen 3-Day has raised more than $875 million. The net proceeds raised by the Susan G. Komen 3-Day help Susan G. Komen® build a world free of breast cancer through research, community, care and action. The funds raised have helped Komen’s mission to save lives from breast cancer, by investing more than $1 billion in breakthrough research and more than $2.3 billion to support people and communities most at risk through programs to provide access to screening, treatment assistance, patient navigation and education.
