Having breast cancer has a been a gift! You may be curious about how cancer can be called a gift. It’s definitely not tidied up in a bow!
From the time you are told you have cancer, you begin to process your own mortality. You evaluate priorities and understand that “the time is now!” There becomes a sense of urgency in engaging in introspection and surrounding yourself with people who allow you to feel and process on a deeper level. My fulfillment is in paying it forward to those who are struggling as a newly diagnosed breast cancer patient or those who are questioning their belief in a cure.
Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
For my friends currently in treatment, I promise; you will see and feel the gift.
Thank you for considering either walking and/or donating. ❤
