It’s only supposed to be FIVE for fighting (hockey reference for those not in the know:)) yet here we are, fifteen years later and still fighting. Why? Because the fight is not over. There is still no cure. There are still unrepairable side effects from treatment. There are still lives lost to this disease. So…despite the penalties (tired legs, blisters, etc.) we will keep fighting because none of it is as hard as breast cancer.
Fifteen years is a long time to do anything and, honestly, we never thought we’d still be doing this. Yet, each year, I watch treatment struggles, learn about new diagnoses, and think “no way I can stop now!”
In August 2024, we will walk in Boston. This is the last city the walk is held that we haven’t walked in. We are looking forward to scenic views and historic sites across 60 miles of this exciting city!
