I cannot believe I am doing it again...this is my 4th SGK 3-Day walk to end breast cancer, but my 12th walk overall. It is my first walk in Denver, in elevation and who knows how many hills! I will be walking Sept 27 - 29th this year.
I did my first walk in 2008 when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I did my second walk in 2010 when my best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer at 42. I walked every year until Avon ended the 2 day walk in 2016.
In 2018 my mom passed away from breast cancer and I joined my first SGK 3-Day walk in 2021 (post-covid restrictions). I have walked every year since then. When I started walking my count of people was fairly small, now my list of thrivers and angels has grown too large. Too many of my friends and family have been impacted. We need to end breast cancer!
Please support me as I commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It is hard, but it is not as hard as breast cancer. It is not as hard as radiation and chemo. It is not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It is not as hard as saying goodbye. And that is why I know I have to do this walk. That is why I am walking and why I am raising money - to end breast cancer forever.
