In 2023, I began a new phase of supporting the Susan G. Komen 3-Day in its goal of raising money to end breast cancer. I worked on the event staff for 4 of the 5 event cities and walked 60 miles in Chicago. This year, I am returnng to work the event and to walk again!
I will again be staffing one of the "pit stops" where walkers refuel along the route. This year, I will be staffing the first pit stop of the day - and when that finishes up, I'll be pitching in wherever help is needed. EXCEPT in Denver, I will move ahead and join my team to walk the rest of the day with the Promises to Keep walkers.
Doing both of these things will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
Your support for me over the past 20 years has made it possible for me to keep walking. I have raised over $100k in the past 20 years for cancer organizations and the Promises to Keep team has raised over $550k since its inception in 2007. Thank you for your past and future contributions!
