It's time for us to jump on board and kick breast cancer in the buttocks!
I'm excited you and your generous heart are "coming with me" to Dallas/Ft Worth for our 4th Komen 60 miler. If this is your first trip, or you have been along for all the walks, I'm proud and honored to take you with me on every step of every mile. I promise to train hard and make it all the way.
My passion for the Komen mission got very personal a few weeks ago as I was diagnosed with DCIS - ductal carcinoma in situ. Regular mammos caught the devil very early, and my prognosis is very favorable. I hope to have the mastectomy and reconstruction surgery done in April, so will be ready to roll in November at the walk! I humbly ask for your prayers.
You know, the Komen 3 Day is not the the easiest way to spend a weekend, but it's a piece of cake compared to battling breast cancer...enduring chemo and radiation treatments, facing surgery with a weakened body, and trying to feel alive again as your body struggles to heal.
I walk because I watched my dear friend fight the battle. I'm a Tata Trekker 2.0, and I trek for Terri, and all my friends who have battled or are battling right now...me included!
