Fifteen days...that’s all the time I had with my sister Cindy. from the time she was diagnosed with breast cancer until the time we lost her. That sudden sharp back pain was metastatic breast cancer in her spine. She had been my rock. She supported me in 2010 when I myself was diagnosed with breast cancer and she walked alongside me through my mastectomy and treatments, I was in shock. That was October 2017 just before the Dallas 3-Day. I had to walk in the 3-Day. I needed to be in a Community of people who could just help me put one foot in front of the other. I needed to feel the presence of the Pink Bubble more than ever. And I needed to tell Cindy’s story. Her story is that she held 2 jobs and was too busy taking care of other stuff, that she didn‘t get her own mammogram. Is anyone else guilty of that? “Too busy” to schedule the mammogram that might save your life?
Fast track to 2024 and decided these old bones cannot take the pounding walking, so this will be my second-year crewing. I'm on the lunch crew this time, so make sure you lookout for me so I can make sure you are taken care of.
