I am embarking on a 3-day, 60 mile, walk with a heart full of hope and determination because breast cancer continues to be an evil disease impacting close friends of mine. Over the past few years, a dear friend of mine fought one of the worst forms of breast cancer you can have. She fought with a fierceness and a softness that I admire. She drew closer to God, her family, and her friends. But most of all she was COURAGEOUS like no other. Recently, another dear, dear, friend was diagnosed. Hers is a little less severe in nature but cancer none-the-less. In the first few weeks, I’ve seen a vulnerability and a strength in her I’ve never seen before. These two ladies have taught me so much about living life, loving others, and courageously fighting through smiles and tears.
I’ve had many friends with breast cancer and each time I am firmly reminded of the incredible strength that is found within each one of us. 60 miles, over 3 days, isn’t easy but it is nothing compared to the battles they’ve fought. I walk to honor them, lift them up, and hopefully raise funds and awareness that help to kick this crummy disease to the curb for all! YOUR support not only fuels the fire within me, I know it will also inspire many others along the way!!! THANK YOU!!
