In November of 2023 and 2024, I walked 60 miles in three days with the Susan G. Komen 3-Day to raise money for breast cancer research and support for those who need it most. Alongside seven incredible women, our team, “Miles for Melons,” faced some of the most physically and emotionally challenging days of our lives—but they were also the most magical. We laughed, cried, and bonded, united by a shared purpose: creating a world without breast cancer.
This year, I am proud to announce that Miles for Melons will be walking for the third time in the San Diego 3-Day. Every single person on our team has been personally impacted by breast cancer in some way. Yet, despite the heartache, we are empowered and inspired to keep walking because we believe in our mission.
The training is hard. Walking 60 miles is hard. But none of it is as hard as…
Hearing the words, “You have cancer.”
Enduring the side effects of chemo.
Facing daily radiation treatments for weeks, months, or even years.
Recovering from reconstructive surgery and everything it entails.
Getting bad news at your latest scan.
Saying goodbye to someone you love.
That’s why I walk. That’s why I’m raising money—to end breast cancer forever.
This year, I’m walking again in honor of my continued remission and all the lives touched by this disease. I humbly ask for your support to help fund critical breast cancer research and provide care for those battling this disease. Asking for donations is never easy for me, but this cause is too important. If you’re able, please consider making a tax-deductible donation—every dollar truly makes a difference.
If you feel inspired to do more, we would love to have you join Miles for Melons! Whether you walk for one, two, or all three days, you’ll be part of an amazing community fighting for a world without breast cancer. All are welcome—friends, family, coworkers, and beyond. Please don’t hesitate to message me with any questions. Here’s the link to register.
